What the Manager said 10 Years Ago?

"Why are you so slow?"

No answer. But I was sleeping 1 hour a day for a whole year in the first job I had. Never the less, he eventually knew I was technically capabale but just slow, no fault of his or mine.

"Is it done"?

The common question of the century. No it isn't. I did not finish the document because I was not even sure if I was supposed to do it. Anyways who cares.

"Dont' you want to be doing more exciting things?"

10 years on. This statement stands so true today. While we spend hours wasted, not planning, making mistakes, carrying on with the mundane tasks that could have really been done in the 80s. Can't we just be doing more exciting things and keeping at the forefront of the modern world instead of working on the BAU stuff.

"Your such a nice guy but..."
At the point being fire on a Friday in a meeting room. I don't think I was "quick enough" to get my resignation in as the performance letters came and clever enough to not tell my colleague I was about to leave as the boss decided his ego was more important. Fired? It was more like a race to see who can get to the finish line first. Got a good reference so not much of a firing. Can't blame him for my performance, hours sleep, ADHD and all sorts of issues that crept on me and plagued me for a decade prior to this.

What do I really think?

Nothing bad ever comes to heart for that manager. I look at my own situation and say no one can be blamed except me. Your personal circumstance is just an excuse. No one actually cares. No one wants to hear empty talk.

Doing some work that really makes me think about the exciting things that I should actually be doing than something I could have done 10 years ago.
