Everyone will die. If our loved ones are about to die, we show them compassion, love and mercy and we ask for forgiveness.
But when they were alive we showed nothing but hate, disrespect, greed and horrible feelings towards them. All becuase of the issue you had with your ego, the property and the money, the hatred through jealousy.
But why do we do it only when someones fate is in extreme suffering?
When we are alive and well, we only think of ourselves, we forget that in this large universe even the sun is just probably even smaller than the grain of sand since there are billions of suns and solar systems beyond this one we know. Our problems are significant only when we make this world our place of eternity.
Death is the equalizer. We begin to realize that, this world was just a small, fraction, almost baseless and useless in comparison to what eternity is. Life feels pretty quick, 34 years old and unmarried and it feels like I just woke up.
Shortly after they die, you reflect for a bit, but nothing changes, not until you decide to change as Allah mentions in the Quran. We must reflect upon death as told by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. If we reflect, only then can we keep our actions and affairs in check, else all we do is run for money, chase the world, compete with our family members and hope to live forever.
If we only take a white cloth with us, does anything matter?
If we only take our deeds with us? What in the world are we doing?
