Laying the Concrete Down

The foundations. The bread and the butter. The roots.

Have you heard someone say, that's my bread and butter. Its in reference to someones skill or experience in regards to earning money. Someone will lay their own foundations down in life in order to solidify the future and have something to fall back on.

If we don't lay the concrete down in our life, can we just hope for luck later?

In other words, when you have the time in your youth, plan ahead, learn the foundations of your trade, soldify the grassroot skills, knowledge and experience. You can never fully grow if you have not got the foundations in place. The building would collapse on itself if its foundational structure is weak.Can you expect to be in competition with the seniors in your field if you lack foundational knowledge and experience?

Spend your time pouring your concrete and make sure it stays firm and well. If you prefer, get your bread and butter right. If you don't, no one will do it for you.
