Understanding what you Have

What if you spent 2+ years working in a company only to realize a few times in coming late to work was the result in a pay rise being rejected when the true measure was the performance of the work itself. Would it upset you?

Always look at the benefits of Allah SWT before you feel sad:

• Still in employment
• Money is not a problem
• The mosque being very close to the work place
• The places and accessibility for prayer in the work place
• The friendly people
• The type of company you have
• Being in a position where you should be thankful when you compare this to people who are much poorer on little or no money, little or no food, little or no shelter, little or no clothing.
• Still having a job while there is a tough economic climate in the country

There may be a hidden lesson in this. In your heart you may feel that for all the times you come late you will be accountable to Allah SWT more than your managers would ever be. It makes me think of salah right now and the hypocrisy associated to it if you pray with laziness and not on time. Maybe this is a clear reminder of how important time is.

Oh Allah, you have blessed us with much and we take this for granted. Thank you.
